Terms

These terms cover what you buy from Desert Phoenix Design, PO Box 135, Bouse, AZ 85325, USA (info@desertphoenixdesign.com): Deepcut map orders and Nightmare Foundry. By placing an order you agree to them.

Deepcut map orders

What you're buying

  • A full Beat Saber v4 map of a song you provide. The notes, walls and lights are generated by Deepcut, a rules-based mapping program, not placed by hand.
  • Deepcut's Easy, Normal and Hard rules were checked in real play. Expert and Expert+ have passed Deepcut's rule checks only. Each map is built and checked automatically; it isn't played by a person before delivery.
  • The map is delivered by email as a private zip without the song. You add your own copy of the audio with the free Add Your Song page.
  • Maps are made for PC VR (Steam, or the Meta app with a Quest on Link or Air Link) and play in a current version of Beat Saber; no mods are needed. Standalone Quest hasn't been tested yet, so it isn't supported for now.

Your audio and your rights

You may only upload audio that you own or have the rights to use for a Beat Saber map, and you confirm this when you order. You let us use your file for one purpose: building your map. We never distribute your audio and never include it in a download.

We may decline or cancel an order, with a full refund, if we have reason to believe the rights aren't in place.

Prices and payment

Prices are in US dollars and shown on the Deepcut page: $10 for one difficulty (Easy, Normal or Hard) and $25 for the full set, at any song length. Payment is taken before the map is built, through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

Delivery

Your map is built automatically after payment and sent to the email address you give when ordering. A song that needs a closer look by hand takes longer, and we'll email you if it does. If it hasn't arrived, check your spam folder, then email us with your order number.

Refunds and revisions

  • If Deepcut can't build a clean map of your song, we tell you and refund you in full.
  • One free revision if Easy, Normal or Hard breaks flow in play.
  • Expert and Expert+: a second pass after real play is $10, or free once if you send your play feedback.
  • We don't offer revisions or refunds for a different style preference ("I wanted a different style").
  • Because a map is a digital product made for your song, other refunds are at our discretion. Contact us within 14 days of delivery.

BeatSaver

We never publish maps on BeatSaver or anywhere else. You may upload your map yourself, under your own account and BeatSaver's rules: you need the rights to distribute the audio you include, you must declare that the notes were generated by a tool (Deepcut), and maps of AI-made songs must carry BeatSaver's "AI generated" genre. Anything you upload is your responsibility.

Using your map

You may play your map and share the map files. Never share them together with audio you don't have the rights to share.

Nightmare Foundry: terms of sale

For the full game and expansions bought on this website. Copies bought on the Meta Quest Store are sold under Meta's terms and Meta's refund policy instead.

What you're buying

  • A licence to play what you bought (the full game, an expansion location, or the Expansion Pack) for your own personal use, on the Quest version (installed as an APK) and the Windows PC VR version.
  • Expansions add locations to the full game and need it to play.
  • The free demo is free and needs no purchase.

Delivery, and your right to cancel

  • Delivery starts as soon as your payment goes through: we email you a key, and the game downloads what you bought when you activate it.
  • At checkout you ask for delivery to start straight away, and you agree that once it has started you lose any right to cancel, including the 14-day right of withdrawal that buyers in the EU and the UK otherwise have for digital content.
  • Sales are final. Please try the free demo first: it is the real game with the Haunted Hotel. If something you bought won't download or work and we can't fix it, we refund it.
  • If you reverse a payment with your bank or card company, what it paid for is removed from your key.

Your key and your devices

  • Your key holds everything you buy with your email address and works on up to three of your devices at a time. You can free a device on the activate page.
  • Your key is for you. Don't share, sell or publish it. We may switch off a key that is shared, resold or used for fraud.
  • Activating needs an internet connection. The game checks your purchases with this website whenever it's online and keeps working offline for 14 days after its last check. Changing your device's date or time may lock your purchases until the game next checks online.

The game

  • Haunts you build are yours.
  • The game includes art and sound by other creators under their own licences; they're credited in the game. You may not take the game's files apart to reuse them, or get around its licence checks.
  • We may update the game. Updates are free for what you own.

Liability

Maps and the game are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the version on this page when you order applies to that order. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA.
